# How can a customer update an airgap license?

After changing properties on a license, how can a customer sync the license on an existing install in an airgapped environment?

1. Download new RLI file from the Vendor Portal and place it on the airgapped server _\*_
2. Navigate to the View License (/license) page in Replicated UI and hit the “Sync License” button

_\* The location where the license file should be placed can be found on the Console Settings (/console/settings) page in the “License File” text box, which is on the host and will be the same as the original license location by default. This also corresponds to the `LicenseFileLocation` param._

It should be pointed out that the new license file needs to be for the same customer as was originally installed - you can’t change the customer of an installation.
