# How do I link private GitHub Packages Registry to my application?

What do I need to enter on the `Link external registry` dialog in order to be able to include private images hosted in Github registry?

Right now this is only supported for KOTS apps.

1. Navigate to `https://github.com/settings/tokens` and generate a new token.

2. Once the toke is generated, save the value. There will be no way to retrieve it later.

3. Enter then following

4. Click the `Link Registry` button.

There is a known issue with `docker.pkg.github.com` that prevents Replicated server from validating the specified credentials. If username or the token are entered incorrectly, authentication errors will be returned to the client when trying to pull images.
